Using the map

UTMap is a planning aid. Information can be incomplete, delayed, out of date, or unavailable. Check the relevant official source before you depend on a route, arrival time, opening hour, or forecast.

  • Routes and access. A suggested route does not confirm that a path is open, safe, accessible, or permitted. Construction, stairs, locked doors, and restrictions can change. Follow posted signs, access rules, and conditions on the ground. Crash, police, closure, and construction markers come from Mapbox and can be missing or delayed.
  • Buses. Routes use saved timetables and available live reports. Vehicle movement between reports is estimated. Arrival times, stops, and service can change. Check CapMetro for official service information and alerts.
  • Buildings and libraries. Building access hours and library service hours are separate. Saved hours may not reflect holidays, special events, closures, or access restrictions. Check the building’s linked official page or UT Libraries hours.
  • Weather and air quality. Values describe the area around the map center. They can come from a saved result or a forecast model. They are rounded and summarized for display. Follow official weather alerts and local air-quality guidance.

UTMap is not an emergency service. Feedback is not monitored for emergencies. Contact emergency services directly if you need urgent help.
